Cabane du Trient
The place
The Cabane du Trient is a staffed refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club, Diablerets section, located at 3170 m elevation in the Swiss part of the Mont Blanc massif (Valais). Built in 1933 to replace the Cabane Julien Dupuis and opened in 1934, renovated in 1975, extended in 2006 and renovated again in 2023. It serves as a starting point for high-mountain routes in this part of the massif: in summer for experienced hikers for whom the hut is the destination, in winter for ski mountaineers covering the western portion of the Haute Route. Capacity ~120 people. Impressive view over the Trient glacier plateau as far as the Aiguilles Dorées and Aiguilles du Tour. Reservation required: +41 27 783 14 38, trient@cas-diablerets.ch.

From Champex or Trient, via the trails and glaciers of the massif. A stage on the Haute Route.
