Cabane du Tieouré
The place
Summer herding cabin set at 2474 m in the Queyras-Ubaye massif (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence / Hautes-Alpes). Closed according to recent visitor reports — the building is locked and likely reserved for the summer shepherd. A remarkable position on the high Ubaye-Queyras valleys, on the fringe of the area's iconic summits. Neighbouring the Cabane de Girardin (2465 m) and the Cabane de Parouart (2100 m), in a classic high-altitude area for Queyras-Ubaye loops. Exceptional mineral setting of the high Cottian Alps: subalpine grasslands, glacial lakes, high-altitude larches, views over the Franco-Italian border. Iconic wildlife: chamois, marmot, ibex (reintroduced), golden eagle, bearded vulture, alpine ptarmigan. A viewing stop only — no access to the interior. Use only as a map landmark for high-altitude loops.
