Cabane du Serre du Play

The place

Unguarded hut of the Vercors at 1663 m, reached from the Corrençon cross-country ski centre by following the GR 91 south. Basic but welcoming lodging, with mattresses for 4 to 6 people, a small fireplace restored by cavers in 2011, table and a shelf with some crockery. Poor insulation — snow gets in and the door doesn't close well — but the structure still stands. Wood, an axe and a saw are usually on site.
