The place
Small unstaffed cabin, handy for an overnight stay, at 1825 m in the Rieutort valley, east of the Étang de Laparan (Haute-Ariège). Not to be confused with the Cabane Rieutort de Gascous above the Étang de Riète. 4 spaces (sleeping platform with mattresses), shuttered window, fireplace. The cabin is divided in two: only the right-hand part is open. Water 30 m away, firewood 5-10 min away on the opposite slope. A stop on the way to the Refuge du Rulhe (2185 m).
