The place
The Cabane du Prat de la Mire is an unstaffed cabin at 600 m altitude in the Donezan area (Ariège, Pyrenees), restored in 2014 by the association "Le Counc en Donezan". Two doors, two windows, two fireplaces and two separate sections: one with a table, the other with a double bed on a mattress. Capacity 4 people (up to 6 if you squeeze in), fireplace, 1 table, benches. Outdoor picnic table and a small spring nearby (water to be filtered/boiled). Access via the forest road from the Mijanès ski station: at 1 km, on a hairpin bend at the entrance to a large clearing, the cabin is on the right.
