The place
Emergency shelter cabin of the Chartreuse massif (Isère), at 1,144 m altitude. Very basic: 4 poorly joined walls and a roof, bare ground. No sleeping platforms, no stove. Warning: the top of one of the walls has collapsed. Can help in bad weather but should not be relied upon. No water source on site. Access from Proveysieux (Pont du Gua) toward the Pas du Sappey via a steep forest track, or alternatively from Mont-Saint-Martin via the Pas du Sappey.
Getting there
Accès par Proveysieux (Pont du Gua), en direction du Pas du Sappey, via une route forestière raide en grand zigzag. Autre possibilité : depuis Mont-Saint-Martin et le Pas du Sappey. En hiver, attention aux purges et coulées de neige sur la piste forestière.
