Cabane du Marcadau

The place

A rustic open cabin at 1621 m in the Marcadau valley, near Cauterets (Hautes-Pyrénées). More of a shelter than a comfortable cabin — windows that don't close, interior in poor condition. Capacity of 4 places, summer and winter alike. Fireplace, wood and water available. Less than an hour from the Pont d'Espagne, on the route to the staffed Refuge Wallon-Marcadau (1865 m), which offers far greater comfort.
