The place

Unstaffed cabin at 2315 m on the edge of the Tour du Mont-Blanc route, between the Col Chécrouit and the Arp Vieille (Italian Val Vény side). Uninsulated metal shelter, but window and door that lock from the inside. An old bed with a worn foam mattress, a folding table, a few trophies from nearby ski runs. Useful in bad weather, not advisable during a storm due to the metal structure. Access from the trail by going off-trail through rocks (watch for precarious sections with gaps) to reach the visible cabin.
