Cabane du Grand Coyer: A Refuge in the Wild The Cabane du Grand Coyer offers two sleeping places, with a double mattress on a pallet. This shelter is ideal in bad weather. Important Information Watch out for fog on the plateaus and the Plan des Mouches. A fountain on the building runs dry in early July. Access and Route From Meailles or Le Fugeret, reach the end of the Ruch forest road. Go up the path heading north, follow the ridge due north or the side paths on the east flank up to the Plan des Mouches. The cabin lies north of the Plan, with its back to the slopes of the Coyer. From the summit of the Grand Coyer, descend following the track and cairns due south, close to the ridge, avoiding the scree and small rock bands. Cost and Funding The cost of the Cabane du Grand Coyer is unknown. Funded by the National Forestry Office (ONF). Availability and Reservation The Cabane du Grand Coyer is always open. A sheltered corner is available next to the cabin's main entrance for shepherds.
