The place

Open hut at 1700 m in the Ossau valley (Béarn), near the Pic du Midi d'Ossau. Folding chairs, a small table and at least 6 foam mattresses, more than enough to sleep comfortably for 4. Fireplace and wood nearby. Spring about 100 m to the north, next to another closed shelter. Access from Pau via the D934 to Gabas, then the D231 to Lac de Bious Artigues, then a 30-minute walk on the GR10. A small cairned path also climbs through the forest from the south side up to the hut's clearing, arriving at the extreme south of the clearing near a small rock outcrop.
