Cabane du Col de Porte
The place
Small unstaffed cabin in the Chartreuse massif (Isère), at 1,350 m altitude. Very rustic, adequate insulation; the door closes well from the inside but the outside lock is just a piece of wire. Cramped, dark interior, equipped with a stove (broken flue) and a small table; sleeping space for a single person. Access from the Col de Porte car park (Chamechaude): follow the classic marked track then quickly branch off onto a path heading north; the cabin is a little further on, on the right.
Getting there
Depuis le parking du Col de Porte, suivre la piste classique et balisée en direction de Chamechaude, puis la quitter rapidement pour un autre sentier partant vers le nord : la cabane se trouve peu après, sur la droite.

Forêt à proximité immédiate (moins de 100m). Pas de point d'eau à moins de 100m : le point d'eau le plus proche (Point d'eau du Col de Porte) est à 262m, la Source du Bachasson à 809m.
