The place

Large tile-roofed wooden hut set at 590 m in the central Vosges (Bas-Rhin) — not listed on official maps. An exceptional building for the area: a large indoor fireplace and 5 tables with benches able to seat around thirty people indoors. Cement floor. No sleeping arrangements — mainly a daytime, social-use building (outdoor meals, hiker gatherings). A picnic area is set up outside with 2 additional tables and 2 benches at a viewpoint. Located alongside the main Club Vosgien routes in the central Vosges (Champ du Feu, Mont Sainte-Odile area — the ridge line of the middle range). A typical Alsatian forest setting: beech-oak forests, fir forests, hedgerow meadows of the central Vosges. Emblematic wildlife: roe deer, wild boar, tawny owl, black woodpecker, red squirrel. A popular stop for group outings and hiking lunches.
