The place
Unstaffed cabin set at 632 m in the Doubs department (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), central Jura sector. Located at mid-altitude on the Jura plateaus, on the fringe of the forest massifs typical of the Haut-Doubs and the Comté foothills. A basic, freely accessible building, a rustic stop for hikers and walkers looping through the Comté forests. Typical Doubs forest setting: high-altitude beech-fir stands, hedgerow-lined pastures, local trails linking Comté villages. Emblematic wildlife: roe deer, wild boar, Jura chamois, boreal lynx (reintroduced in the 1980s in the Jura massif), capercaillie in the preserved areas. Located on the fringe of the main local trails and mountain-bike routes of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park.
