Cabane du Chazeau (Chauzeaux)

The place

Concrete cabin renovated in 1999 at 1778 m in the Belledonne massif (Isère). Single room with sleeping loft, a few blankets, wood cooking stove, table, benches, broom, and saw. Capacity: 2 comfortable places on stacked mattresses (very thin) or 6 basic places. Solar lighting. Springs nearby completely dry: the nearest water point is the stream coming from the Lac de Belledonne, quite far away. Access by leaving the car on the "Traverses" road and following a well-marked trail through the forest, increasingly steep as you approach; about 1h30.
