The setting
Petit abri forestier récent en bois, meublé d'une table et deux bancs, en forêt, massif du Jura, secteur du lac de l'Abbaye. Malgré son nom, la cabane n'est proche ni d'une rivière ni d'un point d'eau : le nom vient de la route forestière du Brochet et de la commune de Grande-Rivière, pas d'un cours d'eau à proximité — précision donnée par la fiche source elle-même. Le nom est gravé sur le linteau de la porte.
