The place
Bois Nègre pastoral cabin in the upper Vicdessos valley (Ariège Pyrenees), at 1570 m altitude, in the area of the Bassiès tarns and the nature reserve. Traditional stone shepherd's cabin used during summer grazing, open to hikers outside the pastoral season. Alpine zone of grassland and rhododendrons, on the GR10.
