The place

Sleeping places: 2. Places on mattresses: 2. This small hut, a former sheepfold rebuilt in 2005, is extremely basic. Inside: a bench, a table, 6 chairs, an old stove (which appears out of order), 2 bunk beds with foam mattresses, and two guest books. The insulation is more than adequate. The door closes properly both from outside and inside, and there is no window. Position improved with OpenStreetMap -- sly. Water: water can be found at a spring emerging from a rock fissure (east side), further up the vale; this spring is captured and feeds a trough near the alpine hut located higher up. From Albertville by car, reach the Col des Cyclotouristes (1,315 m) via a small winding road, passing by the Fort du Mont. Then, on foot, follow a forest track southeast for a bit over 200 m before taking shortcut trails (yellow markings). At 1,430 m, leave the route heading right up to the Têtes blockhouse and continue straight ahead to a junction (1,448 m). Then spot on the right the start of a path marked by a sign. Leaving old paths toward the Chappes on the left, it reaches the Haut du Pré. Join its sheepfold (spring), then descend north into an open vale. After 500 m you find the hut on the left, at the edge of the forest.
