Cabane des Clots (ou de Roybon)

The place

Hut at 1450 m near Villard-de-Lans (Vercors, Isère). Relatively large and functional: a very large sleeping platform for 15 people, table and fireplace. Well built, shutters on the windows, good tables inside and out. Sleeping on stacked platforms. Open, well-maintained dry toilets (toilet paper, sawdust, urinal, hand sanitizer). Fastest access: park at the Clots car park, climb 1h via the GR (arriving from the northwest) or go via the Fauge valley. Spring-fed basin a few dozen metres above the hut (pass through the livestock enclosure) — generally flows year-round, even in high summer. Useful stopover before the Cornafion or Gerbier ridges.
