The place

Magnificent recently built log cabin at 1290 m on the edge of a wide clearing in the Vercors massif (Isère). The latest edition of the IGN map marks it as a shelter, but it is in fact closed to the public — only the outdoor awning offers protection from rain or wind. Picnic area nearby. Events on the ancestral practices of charcoal burners are held here. Access from Trésanne via the Col de Papavet then the Col des Pellas.
