The place
Cabin at 1374 m in the Dingy-Saint-Clair sector (Bornes-Aravis, Haute-Savoie), Pertuis valley. Found in ruins by hikers from Dingy in July 1993, crushed by snow and the weight of years. Reconstruction started November 7, 1993 by about fifty volunteers: walls built in 1994, roof and gables completed in summer 1995, inauguration on July 28, 1996 after finishing the floor and other final touches. Project initiated by the Foyer du Parmelan in partnership with the municipality of Dingy-Saint-Clair. Inside: 2 foam mattresses and old sleeping bags. Snow cover is nearly continuous from here towards the Pertuis.
