Cabane des Aguilous

The place

Hut at 2285 m high on the Montagne des Aiguillous, in the Pyrenees National Park (Bigorre, Hautes-Pyrénées). 8 places but cramped when full. Fireplace replaced by a stove (September 2023), water available, sleeping on low benches. In good condition and very clean. Access from Héas (numerous car parks): climb the road towards Troumouse, turn left before the toll onto a path, 150 m further on turn left towards the Hourquette de Héas, the path climbs to the left of a stream. Around 1750 m, leave a water intake on the left and continue on the same side. Arrival at the "Pla" at 1881 m: don't cross the stream, continue on the left bank via a path that passes in front of a wayside shrine and resumes the climb.
