The place

Former sheepfold remarkably restored into a shelter in 1996 by Jean-Pierre Depetro and Roger Gervasoni. The interior, rather cramped and dark, has only a small table with four chairs and a stove as furnishings. The stove is out of order (05/2026). Warning: there's no space to spend the night here. A clever cistern has also been installed at the back of the building. The Forestry Code (Article L131-1) prohibits "lighting a fire inside and within 200 m of woods, forests, plantations, moors and scrubland". Gathering dry wood is also prohibited (Forestry Code Article R241-27). From the Refuge des Narces, find the start of a trail to the west, where a sign points toward Gros Martel. Marked yellow/green, it eventually joins a forest track which you follow to the left. The cabin is located about ten meters below it at a bend.
