Cabane de Saubé: A Rustic Refuge in the Heart of Nature The Cabane de Saubé is a picturesque refuge set in magnificent natural surroundings, offering 6 sleeping places in a rustic, welcoming space. Indoor Equipment 1 table 2 wooden sleeping platforms, each able to sleep up to 3 people Extra mattresses available 1 broom Location and Route The Cabane de Saubé is located near the Anglade tungsten mines, where a revival project was launched in 2016. To get there from Salau, take the Cougnets trail heading south-east, via a yellow-marked path leading to the old Anglade mines. From the end-of-road parking area, follow the yellow-marked path through the forest heading east, crossing a footbridge over a stream and climbing steep switchbacks up to the alpine pasture. The sheepfold is made up of two parts: one for the shepherd on the right and one for hikers on the left. Water and Wood Supply A water catchment feeds a trough located 20 m north of the cabin. Deadwood is available to the south, in the forest covering the ridge south of the cabin. Availability and Booking The Cabane de Saubé is open year-round and does not require advance booking.
