The place
Unstaffed cabin set at 1520 m in the Belledonne massif (Isère, Livet-et-Gavet area), south-west of the Croix de Belledonne summits. Basic log building, uninsulated, with gaps between the logs; watertight roof, packed earth floor, no stove. Rustic sleeping on wooden benches for 2 to 3 people. Position marked on the IGN map. Two possible accesses: from the hamlet of Les Clos (700 m, commune of Livet-et-Gavet) via a steep forest trail — substantial climb; or from the Lac du Poursollet parking area (1650 m) passing through the Chalets de la Barrière (1860 m), with a descent of around 340 m negative elevation (steep sections). Forested and mineral setting of Belledonne: high-altitude fir forests, alpine pastures, panorama over the Grandes Rousses massif and the Écrins. Emblematic wildlife: chamois, marmot, alpine ptarmigan, golden eagle, black grouse.

From Les Clos (700 m, Livet-et-Gavet) via a steep trail, or from the Lac du Poursollet parking area (1650 m) via the Chalets de la Barrière.
