Cabane de Pierre Grosse

The place

Cabin at 2294 m on the Pierre Grosse ridges, in the northeast combe of the Pic du Col d'Ornon and the Grand Renaud (Écrins, Isère). Concrete construction with a metal roof that appears watertight and a wooden floor. Inside: 4 foam mattresses on bunks, 6 chairs, an outdoor pallet table, a gas stove, gas bottle heating, pots, glasses, and utensils. Key hanging on a chain on the door frame, so the cabin is open. Spring in the northeast combe of the Grand Renaud about 10 min away. Mainly used by hunters.
