The place

Closed sheepfold at 2160 m in the Beaufortain massif (Savoie), on a variant of the Grande Traversée des Alpes (GTA). Only part of the barn remains accessible, very cluttered — emergency shelter only. Access via the Col d'Arpire from the Cormet de Roselend, or via a variant across the grassy slopes of the Col d'Arpire (unmarked trail, steep towards the end).
