Cabane de Montaveilla

The place

Closed and locked pastoral cabin at 1,900 m altitude in the Hauts-Plateaux du Vercors Nature Reserve, about 300 m south-east of the Pas des Bachassons. Built in 2000 as part of an ONF/DDAF programme funded by Europe, for wolf-protection purposes to monitor herds during summer grazing. Reserved for pastoral use, not accessible to hikers.
