Cabane de Lignin

The place

Unmanned cabin at 2280 m on the Lignin plateau, municipality of Colmars-les-Alpes (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France) — and not in Valais despite the Germanic-sounding name. Accessible via a trail beside one of the Lignin lakes. Capacity 4 people on the floor under the roof and 2 people in a second room with mattresses. Owned by the ONF, leased to shepherds during the summer grazing season (roughly mid-June to late October) when it is no longer accessible. Water catchment right in front of the cabin.
