Cabane de la Tusella

The place

Disused, fairly basic shepherd's hut, restored and used by hunters and locals (commemorative plaque). Condition as of 05/2021: fireplace corner, bench, a few kitchen utensils, wooden bunk beds (4 spaces) but no mattresses. The roof appears watertight, but beware — the door is in poor condition (ready to fall off! Wedged with stones and a few nails, doesn't close properly, expect drafts...) On foot only, from the ridge path linking the Col de Verghjolu and the Col de Capronale via Astenica. At a wooded saddle just west of the summit of Tusella (IGN point 1363), a small path heads due south, descending gently through a pine forest; it leads in 500 meters to the disused Tusella sheepfolds.
