The place

Forest shelter at 1141 m in the Chartreuse massif (Voreppe, Isère). The stove had been removed by the ONF due to fire risk declared by the municipality of Voreppe, but has since been restored. Open fires and barbecues prohibited in the surrounding area. Mattresses in place, saw available, firewood stock to cut about 200 m downhill from the cabin on the left of the forest track. Spring 200 m away, very low flow (sometimes necessary to descend to the Roize valley before climbing back up toward Charminelle).
