Cabane de la Montagne de Lau

The place

Hut at 1750 m in the Diois area (Drôme), owned by the Isère departmental council, which also owns the Peyre-Rouge alpine pasture and the sheepfold it sits on. Used for storing summer-pasture equipment and open as a shelter for those who need it from 1 November to 1 June. Capacity 4 places. A lean-to (5 x 6 m) provides emergency shelter; remains of a metal bed frame that can serve as a comfortable sleeping surface if you bring your own mat. On a small path descending south/south-west from the Pas de la Selle towards Pré Peyret, in a small valley east of Queyrie, separated by the Montagne du Lau.
