Access to water can be unreliable, since in mid-September, after a dry spell, the nearby spring marked on the sign can run dry. The cabin, partly built into the ground and well insulated, sits alongside the path leading to the Port de Salau on the eastern side (France). Access from Salau To reach the Cabane de la Lanne from Salau, head south, pass Plagnau Long at 1265 m, cross the stream, and continue on a good path through the Buis forest and the summer pasture until you reach the cabin right on the path. Access from Spain From Estarri d'Aneu, Isil and the Montgarri track, you can reach the Cabane de la Lanne via the Port de Salau, either along a trail from the Refuge de Fornet, or by following the track from the Pont de Perosa. The cabin is close to the Refuge du Port de Salau, offering a backup option if needed. Cost and Booking The Cabane de la Lanne is an unmanned refuge with no booking fee.
