Cabane de la Hourquette d'Arre

The place

Open stone cabin at 2400 m at the Hourquette d'Arre, on the Gabas-Gourette stage of the GR10 (Béarn, Pyrénées-Atlantiques). Renovated in 2015 by an international volunteer workcamp organized by the association Concordia. Packed-earth floor, wooden sleeping platforms for 2 people. Water at the Lacquet-source du Valentin, about 10 min below on the left along the trail towards Lavedan. Ideal for a late arrival at the Hourquette d'Arre since it's about 1 h walk to reach the lake below to pitch a tent. Per a visit at the end of September 2024: cabin open and clean.
