Cabane de Coste Queillère

The place

Metal shelter in good, clean condition at 2100 m, on the edge of a small lake of the same name, at the boundary of the Néouvielle nature reserve (Hautes-Pyrénées). Two metal-framed low bunks, a table, no bench, no visible spring. At the back, a basic mattress for 1 person. An interesting spot to spend the night since bivouacking is banned in the neighbouring reserve. Access from Saint-Lary via the Bielsa tunnel road, first car park at 1591 m past Fabian; on foot via the Oule dam track, then left turn after the Cabane de la Lude (closed) — 350 m of elevation gain up to the small lake where the cabin stands.
