Cabane de Campcardos
The place
Small stone cabin at 1950 m in the Campcardos valley (Cerdagne-Capcir, Pyrénées-Orientales), wrongly marked as a shelter on IGN and OTM maps: now closed to the public and reserved for the shepherd. Formerly had a fireplace, wood storage, and water for 4 people. Access from Porta (1506 m) via a narrow passage under the railway to a parking lot near the Carol, then a 1h30 to 2h climb up the valley.
Getting there
La cabane se trouve à proximité des sentiers GR7 et GR107, dans le secteur de Cerdagne (Pyrénées-Orientales), à environ 1950 m d'altitude, non loin de l'Orri de Campcardós.
The setting
Le bâtiment est entouré de forêt et un point d'eau se trouve à moins de 100 m. C'est une construction en pierre, parfois signalée à tort comme un simple abri sur certaines cartes.
