Cabane de Ben Nevis
The place
Alpine hut known as the CIC Hut (Charles Inglis Clark Memorial Hut), built in 1928 by Dr and Mrs Inglis Clark in memory of their son, killed in action during the First World War. Located at 680 m at the foot of the north face of Ben Nevis (Scotland), beneath the Allt a' Mhuilinn, it is the reference hut for winter ascents of the north face — the UK's main winter climbing cliff. Owned and managed by the Scottish Mountaineering Club (SMC). Capacity of 24 beds, kitchen, sanitary facilities, running water and drying room, gas for cooking and heating; no shower. Original building fully renovated and extended between 2008 and 2012. Approach: 2h+ walk from the North Face car park.
