Cabane de Bachimaña

The place

Free hut at 2280 m by the Bachimaña Alto lake, in the commune of Panticosa (Huesca, Aragon, Spanish Pyrenees). Capacity 10 people, summer and winter alike. Mattresses, bed base, candles and a lighter were present during a September 2014 visit; used by a Basque shepherd, in very good condition for overnight stays. Peaks overlooking the area: Grande Fache (3005 m), Garmo Negro (3051 m), Picos del Infierno (3082 m). Views over the Vignemale massif, the Tena valley and the Balaïtous. Access from the Casa de Piedra refuge via the GR 11, right bank of the Caldarés, then crossing the small dam of the lower Bachimaña tarn.
