Cabane d´Aygues Cluses

The place

An unstaffed cabin at 2150 metres located in the Hautes-Pyrénées, south of the Col du Tourmalet, in the Barèges sector at the foot of the Lac de Coueyla Gran. Six sleeping places on a platform with foam mattresses, up to eight if shared, working fireplace with wood available. A spring rises under a large flat slab about three metres from the southern shore of the lake. Recent visitors (2022-2026) report a recurring problem with cleanliness and abandoned litter; a new cabin has been under construction nearby since 2019.
