The place
Unguarded cabin at 1347 m in the Col de Mazel area, on the edge of the Forêt de Brassac (Ariège, Occitanie), between Col de Mazel and Col de Légrillou. Accessible in about ten minutes from the car park at the start of the Route Forestière de la Devèze. According to hiker feedback, the shelter is in very good condition, clean, stocked with firewood, and can comfortably host six people for a shared meal. Popular stopover for walkers in the Barguillère/Plantaurel area.
