The place

Small high-altitude bivouac at 3382 m on the Presanella massif (Trentino), originally built by the Austro-Hungarian army during the First World War as an artillery observation post. Restored and improved by local SAT sections (the Trentino equivalent of CAI). The bivouac is located 200 m in elevation below and 450 m southeast of the summit of the Presanella (3556 m). Rustic construction typical of high-altitude bivouacs, minimal equipment for alpine climbs. Listed on refuges.info among the unstaffed huts of the Alps.
