The place
Cabane Bertrand is a small unstaffed stone hut at 1460 m altitude, set on a small ledge above the Serpaton forest road, above the hamlet of Puits east of Gresse-en-Vercors (Isère). It has a sleeping platform, a small table and a bench. It's a good starting point for a short, easy ascent of the Rocher du Baconnet. A rustic stone hut, more of an emergency or rest stop shelter than an overnight one.
