Cabane basse des Taillades (Caychax)

The place

Former pastoral hut at 1250 m in the commune of Caychax (Haute-Ariège), restored in the 1990s. Minimal comfort: fireplace, table, concrete sleeping platform with no mattress for 2 people (two mattresses have since been added). A forestry track leaves 750 m south-east of Caychax on the RD 20 and climbs roughly northward along the western flank of a ridge (Denladel) up to the hut, where it ends. Water at the Ruisseau des Taillades, 100 m to the north.
