Cabane aux Ours

The place

A north-facing wooden cabin, spacious but without much of a view. Sleeping on a wooden platform (no blanket or mattress), with a small extra loft level. The stove has been removed: no more means of heating since November 2013. Furniture: a table and two metal chairs. Windows and doors close properly (some plastic glazing). No water point in winter. Access from the Col de Vence: follow the main track that passes in front of the Auberge la Chapelle towards La Bastille; at the first junction, climb a yellow-waymarked trail on the right leading directly to the cabin.
