A seasonal sugar shack (Acer saccharum maple stands, tapped during sugaring season in March-April, a Quebec tradition since 1867; maple syrup production accounts for 71% of world output, roughly 175 million kg/year via the PPAQ federation), in an area of maple-beech forest near Mont-Tremblant National Park (Zec Mitchinamecus, 400,000 ha, the 2nd largest in Quebec), on Anishinabeg-Algonquin heritage land (an Algonquian people party to the 1850 Robinson-Huron Treaty, which negotiated several reserves).
