The place

Sleeping spots: 6 Spots on mattresses: 5 Former pastoral cabin open to hikers. A raised sleeping platform for 6 people, with foam mattresses. The chimney has been sealed off, and a stove installed instead. Outside, a marshy grassy flat area, with an unimproved spring. From Tavascan, drive up the paved road heading north toward the ski resort. Park at Quanca, where a track continues into the valley and the paved road starts climbing. Continue on foot along the track heading north, up to 1680, at a switchback to the right, where a sign indicates a horizontal path on the left. After 10min, a footbridge crosses the stream to reach the Pleta Palomera. Continue on the good path, on the left bank, for 40min until the cabin. Tavascan Tourist Office.
