The place

Unstaffed cabin of DNT Ringerike, located in forest north of Strømsoddbygda on the eastern shore of Lake Buvatnet (Viken, Norway), about an hour's drive from Hønefoss. Eleven sleeping places across two spaces: two bedrooms with eight beds and a shared living-and-cooking room with a wood stove, plus a loft with three additional sleeping places. 12V lighting powered by solar panels in every room. A dedicated dog room with bedding, bowls, and water. Summer access takes about 10 minutes from the road south of Buvatnet via a blue-marked trail; winter access is via a groomed track through Strømsoddbygda, with limited parking at a small clearing 400 m beyond the boat shed.
