The place

DOC standard hut with 4 bunks in the Skippers area (Otago, Wakatipu/Queenstown). Access via the unsealed Skippers Road (4x4 recommended) to Skippers Point, then the Bullendale Hut Track. **Former mining area**: heavy metals continue to leach from the old mine workings — water from Murdochs Creek is unsafe to drink.
