The place

Síház (ski lodge) at Bánkút on the Bükk plateau in Hungary, at 772 m. Run by the Bükki Vörös Meteor SE, contact Tóth Sándorné Csontos Zsuzsanna (csonticsoki@gmail.com, +36 30/262-3931). Capacity of 16 people in three rooms of 6, 6, and 4 beds. Equipped kitchen, common room heated by a fireplace, basic facilities (water from a spring 3 km away, indoor washing area, outdoor toilet, electricity). Season April 1 - October 31. Rate approx. 1,350 HUF/person/night + 450 HUF tourist tax; children under 6 free; ages 6-18 and over 70 exempt from the tax. Driver's license required for access — to be requested at booking.
