The place
Boundary Hut is a standard 4-bunk DOC hut at 383 m elevation in the Mavora Lakes Conservation Park (Southland, South Island, New Zealand, Te Anau area). Built almost 40 years ago, at the northern boundary of the Mavora Lake Conservation Area, one of the first huts built under the New Zealand Walkways system. On the iconic Te Araroa trail, used by cyclists, horse riders, hikers, hunters and anglers on the Mararoa River. First come, first served, no booking. Fee: NZD 10/night adult, NZD 5/night youth 5-17, free under 5. 4 hours' walk (16 km) from the North Mavora Lake Campsite. Water supply cut off from May to October.
