Bordierhütte
The place
High-altitude hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (Geneva section) at 2886 m at the foot of the Nadelgrat, in the Mischabel group above St. Niklaus (Valais). Named after a Geneva banker who financed its construction in 1927. 46 beds, staffed from mid-June to mid-September — outside the season, the kitchen, dining room and dormitories remain accessible to mountaineers. A central starting point for routes on the Nadelgrat and the summits of the Balfrin group. Approach from Gasenried takes about 4 hours; a new, technically easier route was created in 2023, avoiding the crossing of the Riedgletscher.
Getting there
From Gasenried (~4h). New 2023 route without glacier crossing.
